CDC gives fully vaccinated green light to shed masks in many outdoor scenarios

Americans who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can safely do many outdoor activities without wearing a mask, according to updated guidance Tuesday from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “There are many situations where fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask, particularly if they are outdoors,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. “If you are fully vaccinated and want to attend a small outdoor gathering with people who are vaccinated and unvaccinated or dine at an outdoor restaurant with friends form multiple households, the science shows — if you’re vaccinated — you can do so safely unmasked.” As of mid-April, all adults in the U.S. are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine, CNET reports. More than 230 million vaccines doses have been administered in the U.S, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, with over 87 million people being fully vaccinated.
