Israel launches fresh strikes on southwest Iran on ninth day of conflict

  • (BBC News) Israel says it has attacked “dozens of military targets” in southwest Iran as the conflict enters its ninth day.
  • Iranian media report an emergency centre in the Khuzestan province was targeted, with a university saying it had been completely destroyed.
  • The UN’s nuclear watchdog says Israel struck an Iranian nuclear plant in Isfahan – BBC Verify identified fresh damage to several buildings at the site.
  • Earlier, Iran’s foreign minister said U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict would be “very, very dangerous”.
  • Israel’s military said they killed Iranian commander Saeed Izadi in a targeted attack overnight.
