Overtime CEO Dan Porter
Sports content provider Overtime Sports Inc. says it plans to put serious money into the hands of 16- to 18-year-old basketball players who want to bypass the high school and collegiate levels. Players in the Overtime Elite League have been promised they will earn at least $100,000 per season as they buff up for NBA eligibility and build their brands. As CNBC points out, Overtime CEO Dan Porter admitted that NBA commissioner David Stern questioned whether Porter was losing his mind when he pitched the idea of another league.
