Those who imbibe British single malt whiskies and cheese will be delighted to know that the U.S. has suspended duties on those and other products as the two countries try to resolve a trade dispute. The conflict originated with aircraft manufacturing tariffs imposed by the U.S. on the European Union prior to the U.K.’s departure from the EU. In a BBC report, the head of the Scotch Whisky Association called the suspension of tariffs “fabulous news”, saying the tariffs have cost distilleries more than a half-billion pounds.
