BIG Boastfest belies my modest manner

One of our BIG Media Ltd. members recently told me that I need to brag more. It was the first time I had ever heard anyone say such a thing.

I want to respect privacy, but I will give you a hint and see if you can guess the name of the person who gave me this sound advice:

The name of a particular Michael Jackson song pretty much gives it away. The first five people who answer correctly in the comment section below or by direct message to me will receive a free three-month subscription* to the business about which I am going to brag. (In order to qualify, you must name the song and the person … if they are different.)

OK, this is awkward because I am usually super humble, but on the advice of my semi-anonymous adviser, I present the BIG Boastfest:

  • I came up with a new style of journalism that offers extremely accurate coverage of the big issues. In order to execute the business model, I recruited a group of accomplished scientists (e.g., Laurie Weston, Lee Hunt, Brad Hayes, Kevin Burron, Brian Russell, David Vickers, Oliver Kuhn, Paul Buller) to document pressing matters with verifiable facts, logical interpretation, and great transparency. They are all excellent researchers and writers.
  • The editorial guidelines that I devised (e.g. consistently try to prove yourself wrong as you do the research, and do NOT quote “experts” to validate whatever theory one might have; let data and logic do the talking, and do not spin!) are an ideal way to ensure objective coverage.
  • BIG-Media.ca has grown steadily since its launch two years ago and now boasts a potent community of critical thinkers who care. Most are CEOs, entrepreneurs, scientists, and accomplished professionals.
  • My brain is an excellent BS detector … so, when you read the articles in our BIG Wrap section, you can be confident that you are not being misled regarding important international news.
  • Sometimes I write posts that strike a chord with readers – LinkedIn
  • Sometimes I write things that result in both outer edges of your mouth stretching upward –  BIG Media Labs announces latest game-changing invention. 😀

Other times, they cause your eyes to roll toward the top of your head –  Election was stolen from me. Obviously. 🙄

  • I might not be the best singer – How They Fool Ya – but I am smart enough to get my talented son Nick Driscoll to fix the parody that I wrote: How They Fool Ya – by Nick Driscoll.
  • The business I founded with renowned scientist Laurie Weston and a small group of high-integrity humans is making a positive impact, offering a trustworthy, transparent source of knowledge on critical matters … which ultimately fosters societal harmony. When people understand what is going on in the world, they are less likely to engage in behaviour that is destructive toward humans and the planet.

I could go on – obviously – but, given my modest disposition, I will keep it short.

Thanks for reading my boastfest. Get your entries in soon!
