I admit it – I am not the brightest bulb in the toolbox.
In 2020 and 2021, as I was imploring people to stay active, continue connecting with people, and to think twice about lining up for new vaccines, I was ridiculed and attacked by many. I was given all of these lovely titles and more in online discussions: idiot, moron, loser, conspiracy theorist, killer, murderer.
On numerous occasions, I had people in my network ask “Why would I take the word of a journalist over a medical official with a PhD?”
The answer is that my agenda is about documenting facts and, ultimately, promoting harmony, while the medical officials often have agendas that have nothing to do with truth or the public’s best interests. They often profit personally and/or professionally from withholding critical facts and spreading disinformation.
The same goes for many professionals in the environmental science realm. While thousands of scientists unite in convincing much of humanity that we are in the throes of a climate catastrophe, I sit back and ask the smartest people I know to give me the facts, and then I share that information with you.
The world is influenced far too much by very intelligent people with selfish – sometimes downright evil – intentions.
Having a simple brain can actually be an advantage. I am just smart enough to realize that I needed to recruit a team of people more intelligent than me to help document truth and critical context regarding the most pressing matters.
And I am just smart enough to understand deep flaws in the news media industry. Our editorial guidelines at BIG-Media.ca prohibit the use of expert testimony. Just the facts, please, I ask of my contributors. And be sure to cite every shred of data, and make it easy for readers to do their own fact checking.
We encourage scrutiny, and only wish that all news media outlets were held accountable regarding the veracity of their news coverage.
It turns out that those PhD emperors of COVID and climate who were revered by millions actually had no clothes on – most wearing not a stitch of integrity.
And the commoners are beginning to realize that a dumb jock who sticks to facts and gets high-integrity, highly intelligent people to do the research might be offering a more reliable source of information after all.
In case you have not been keeping score, BIG Media Ltd. has absolutely demolished the medical officials, politicians, and the mainstream media in the key categories of accuracy, integrity, and critical context.
It is kind of a David vs Goliath situation as our small business slingshots ahead of our giant rivals.
Agenda-driven science and journalism have had a field day with a gullible populace in recent years, but the pendulum is swinging back toward sanity as more people every day come to understand that they were played as fools by ill-intentioned “experts”.
For those interested in learning – or being reminded – about the fundamental principles of science, I recommend reading this three-part series by my co-founder Laurie Weston, an entrepreneurial geoscientist who has quite a way with words and numbers:
- Science – there is method to the madness
- Manipulating science – activism and advocacy
- Science and morality – ethics and judgment
In the climate and energy transition space, Laurie and fellow geoscientist/entrepreneur Brad Hayes provide fundamental facts that should not be ignored:
- Climate change and energy – context for the great debate
- Real climate science – uncertainty and risk
- Return to sensible energy policy – a painful but necessary transition
