Many of you will consider it preposterous for me to suggest that in less than four years, BIG Media has become the most accurate English-language news platform on the planet.
But I believe this to be the case, and I challenge you to try to prove me wrong.
It will be easy to investigate because our editorial contributors at BIG Media focus on verifiable facts and logic, and provide comprehensive attribution so you can do your own fact-checking.
But before you spend too much time on this, keep in mind that most of our writers are accomplished scientists and engineers who write within tight editorial guidelines that preclude the use of sensationalism and expert testimony (often nothing more than agenda-driven propaganda). We also consistently employ the scientific method in the research and writing of each article.
To help you get started on trying to prove me wrong, I highlight some important issues that we have covered along with articles linked, plus a little background. I will be glad to see links to coverage that you believe is more accurate …

- Biomedical ethics – “Mounting COVID frustration is no reason to abandon fundamental principles”, “Examining the ethics of triage in a pandemic” (You may struggle to find an example of news journalism on this topic superior to that produced by world-class scientist, novelist, and philosopher Lee Hunt.)
- Piping infrastructure – “Pipe problems – a detailed examination of what lies beneath us”, “Pipe problems continued – it hits home”(You may have difficulty finding an example of news journalism on this topic superior to that produced by accomplished engineer and business leader Edward Ostrowski who goes to great lengths to compile reams of pertinent data and then share it in an easy-to-understand format.)
- COVID restrictions – “Emergencies Act ruling should have surprised no one”, “Restrictions, rights, and the rule of law”, “Rule of law wins in pastor’s appeal of pandemic protest contempt charges” (You may have a hard time finding an example of journalism on this topic superior to that produced by former engineer Kevin Burron, who was recruited to be a partner at the world’s largest law firm and is an acclaimed litigator in the construction/real estate realm.)
- Federal leadership – “Is Canada broken or not?”(You may experience issues finding an example of news journalism on this subject superior to that produced by engineer and business leader Grant Wilde, who gave a very unpopular federal government credit for things it introduced that have not been disastrous.)
You will notice that the scientists and engineers that comprise the BIG Media editorial team are not a bunch of nerds who put you to sleep with boring, technical details. They are all fantastic writers who simultaneously entertain and empower.
The truth is that I would love to see other news organizations produce accurate, high-integrity news content, but it is impossible to accomplish when using the ubiquitous practices of sensationalism and expert testimony.
